Trying to download the latest version on windows 10 and wont sync chain.

I have a couple problems. I did not catch the update in August which kept me on the main chain and now I cannot sync the new core wallet for some reason. Any help would be appreciated

Is there a schedule to make these wallets easier?

I have missed updates and now cannot download the newest version. It would sure be nice if this were designed so people with out tech ability could use PIV. Or is this the plan to begin with?
