@Eric_Stanek:
AFAIK, the Marketing team just got their own instance of NextCloud and is still migrating to it. They don't have things fully configured for themselves yet, let alone anyone else. The better question is why haven't people who need access, asked for it? Further, where is the public access for their graphic source files so others can translate their work?
@Eric_Stanek thanks for giving insight as to what we are doing. Appreciate it.
@Gerrald great question. Thanks for tagging me.
I admit I haven't requested as much of the translation team lately. I have received inconsistent responses in the past and I quickly gave up. That is on me and it's not fair to the community or these awesome volunteers. Because they are VOLUNTEERS. I need to step that up to use for custom transcripts in other languages.
Unfortunately it is quite hard to provide a source file, like Meerkat does with photoshop, should we want to create the in-video text as the translated language. With a lot of video work, you need to be well acquainted with the software in order to edit it. On one hand I could receive the translations and put in the text, but this is prone to language errors I don't understand and much more time spent, or on the other hand I could work with some of these translators to teach them to do it on their own. Either way is a toughy, but this IS something we will need to figure out.
The best way (IMO) is to request a transcript translation - after we upload to be a custom translation should people choose another language in closed captions. The struggle is it's a volunteer position - perhaps I need to step up my 'Purple Rain' game and put incentives for the sake of consistency. I think this might be best.
The Nextcloud Server
I pay for this server out of my own pocket for my team and I so we have a place to consolidate all our notes, passwords, chats, files, task management, and calendars. This isn't to say people aren't invited, but we won't put mass invites out.
We will however invite any team members that want to be involved in what we are doing and collaborate with us, such as the translation team. @talhatr is a great example - I am compiling all the videos he and the other translators need today in order to send them a permanent invite to the "Finals" folder where they can access our post-ready files and scripts. If they want to be involved more with the marketing ideas and building process, we would welcome it - primarily the ones who have been a while and are a solidified part of PIVX.
How I have solved this in the past is to create a 'Community Assets' folder where people can use the various files, images, and templates they would need to create their own media. I can do this again to make sure the community is equipped to make their own socials that have our branded assets.
Concerning socials expanded
We work together with LeacyMck and Meerkat here and there, but it can definitely be improved. On our side of things, I think we need to do a better job of letting @Rigden15937 and LeacyMck know when things are scheduled to go out and request these things to be posted on the various platforms they manage. Appreciate the constructive criticism.
