The EDGE

The edge of progress is illusory: There are moments when you feel that you are masterfully riding the wave, only to be crushed by it. The exhilaration of either is often confounding. Regardless, you must learn to contend with the wave and attempt to harness its energy into a productive output. This is what is like to be a futurist in a world of increasing and accelerating complexity. Meanwhile, the onlookers on the beach attempt to shout instructions toward you, having never dipped a toe in the water.
